    Sunday 5 February 2012, 10:30 am

It has snowed here in Great Cornard, as I’m sure it has wherever you are in the East of England.

New Church, Suffolk, will still have their service this morning as most of the roads nearby seem to have been cleared.

Please do travel carefully and if your neighbourhood is hard to escape perhaps consider a day with your family or attending a church closer to home.

Hot chocolate and other drinks will be ready for those of you who do make it in! (As well as communion and activities for the young people).

On Tuesday 10 January we are launching our new small group series, on prayer.

The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
    (Psalm 145:18 ESV)

You are welcome to join us for any of the sessions, where you will be able to ask questions as you learn about God’s promises to us. If you do not have a small group you regularly attend then please contact Matt Warnock to find out which groups are available and when they meet.

    The sessions are:

    Week commencing
8 January Series & SG Launch Meeting (at Great Cornard Upper School)
     15 January 1. Praying Authentically (Nehemiah 1:5-11)
     22 January 2. A Pattern for Prayer (Luke 11:1-10)
29 January 3. Meeting the Mountain Mover (Acts 4:23-31)
     5 February Open Subject
12 February 4. Slowing Down to Pray (Psalm 131)
     19 February 5. Tuning into God’s Voice (Luke 10:38-42)
     26 February 6. Living in God’s Presence (John 15:1-8)

The studies are based on a book called “Too Busy Not To Pray” by Bill Hybels. The book is not needed to join in the weekly discussions but if you would like a copy then please let Chris Ryall know and he will order you a copy.
